Welcome to my personal website!

I am with the University of Genoa since 2011, where I am an Associate Professor of Telecommunications with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering and Naval Architecture (DITEN), University of Genoa since 2021. I received the Master Degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. Degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Genoa University in 1999 and 2003, respectively. I have more than 20 years of experience in image and video sequence analysis. I co-authored about 250 technical papers on signal and video processing for computer vision.

I am Senior Area Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and was Associate Editor for the same journal and for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, publication co-chair for the FUSION 2024 conference, technical program co-chair for 13th International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras (ICDSC) and for the first IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Systems (IEEE ICAS 2021), co-organizer for the thematic meeting on Multimedia Signal Processing GTTI MMSP 2026, co-chair of the Workshops: Innovative Approaches in Image and Signal Processing for Autonomous Vehicles: Integrating Incremental Learning and Explainable AI ISPAV2025 and Generative AI for Forensics and Security applications GenAI-FS2025 at IEEE ICIP 2025 and the 3rd Workshop on Signal Processing for Autonomous Systems SPAS2025 at EUSIPCO2025. I am co-chairing the Workshop “From Agentic AI to Autonomy: Trustworthy Human-AI Teaming for Intelligent Adaptive Systems” at IEEE ICASSP 2026. I am Senior Member of IEEE and active within the IEEE Signal Processing Italy Chapter and chair of the Autonomous Systems Initiative (ASI) of the IEEE SPS.
